SPIP is a publishing system for the Internet in which great importance is attached to collaborative working, to multilingual environments, and to simplicity of use for web authors. It consists of a collection of files installed on a web server which allow you to take advantage of a number of automated tasks: multi-user management, laying out your articles without the need to use HTML, easily modifying the structure of your site, etc. Using the very same application as used to browse a site (Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera...), SPIP enables you to build and update your site thanks to a very simple user interface.

I started with spip 1.9 and now I am working with the latest version 3.5. documentation easy and clear.

I tried several CMS. SPIP is probably the more easy to work with when you don't know a word of php. The first website that I ever made with this is in French, English and Spanish... can't have that so easily with other CMS I tested.
SPIP is a CMS and more... For users, publishing is so easy For designers, the asset of this application is templates creation For developers, same thing, plus it can be used like a framework : it read externals databases and write templates very simply.
