Whilst WordPress began for blogs, it has grown up. There are many Themes (looks) and Plugins (extra functionality). It is the most straightforward system for less the technically inclined to manage. There are many plugins that really help. I recommend Page Builder by SiteOrigin. There is much additional functionality to cover a wide range of options. As WordPress is in active development I expect that it will grow and develop to provide things I do not know I need yet.

If you are happy to pay for webhosting, wordpress is a great platform for blogs, sites and other projects... very usable, and easy to install ... but easier if you use softaculous (I have no vested interest! i just love it!) - get yourself a webhost with cPanel and softaculous - and start using wordpress, it's so easy to use, and if you want to check out any e-learning site to learn html and js and other languages, you can really burn along with your site with wordpress! Enjoy it!
My client's WordPress install was originally at the primary domain, but we decided to move it to a subdomain. I tried out the "clone" feature of Softaculous and, within a minute, we had a fully functioning copy of the install! Incredible tool: thank you!

So far I am very familiar with WP. When I meet a friend , I always suggest to utilize WP.org. However, I remain have difficulties, as I do not have am IT background. But in the last conditions, making new blog (website) with WP is not worried at all. Thank you WP Team, with your high social condition, makes the WP so easy.
I have been using this software since 2007 and have recently moved the entire blog from Wordpress.com to its own web server. The export and import process was a snap and I was back online within a few hours (instead of days). I highly recommend this for any new and experienced blogger or major news web site.

I was pleasantly surprise at how easy it was to install. The only thing I didn't realize is that the default installation ends up in the http://website name.com/wp folder. REMOVE the wp if you want the site at root level. Thankfully, I was able to easily uninstall and re-install (I'm a newbie at this so I didn't know how to correct manually!).
Wordpress is wonderfully easy to learn to use, whether you are interested in pure content creation or a designer and coder looking for a content management system you can customize. I love Wordpress and have been using it now for several years. I highly recommend it to beginners and even experienced website owners. It's simply lovely to have.

i have installed wp to my site thruogh softaculous, it was fun and easy. thanks for this nice supprt and installation process.
I've tried more than ten different CMS/blog engines, and WP is simply the one that best matches what they all say: Easy to use but still powerful! Many have that claim, but doesn't live up to it. On a close second place comes Website baker. The second position is because WP has an ocean of plugins that no one else can match...

Wordpress...I liked, good and fantastics.
This could be the best alternative to cPanel. I have used both and this is, by far, the most flexible way to deploy applications. It constantly updates itself and I am always amazed when I log in and find new functionality. What a great way to test over 200 applications. If you decide not to use them, simply uninstall them. Thanks for a great product. And did I mention, very affordable.

I don't really use WP as a blogging tool (and I'm probably totally missing the point about websites and blogs) but do use it to create 'standard' websites for small businesses and with a bit of tweaking it's great for that too! A very easy to use CMS as well. Great documentation and forums too.

Very slow running. Wordpress Admin area is also slow. i think this is slow because of large Database query :) but script is better then others, lots of feathers. for better and fast performance, i am not using plugins
